Brianne Smith, a senior at Quartz Hill High in California, won the third heat of the Division 1 girls competition at the CIF-Southern Section prelims at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut. Smith covered the 2.93-mile course in 17:56.4 to help the Rebels take third in the section with 82 points.
